Lace Curtains and How to Clean Them Properly
We will never deny how beautiful lace curtains are and there are many lace curtains ideas to prove that. And imagine how bothersome it is if you find yours stained or dirty. Luckily, despite how delicate lace fabric is in general, you can still clean your lace in simple steps.
Cleaning Lace Curtains
Start by placing the curtains between 2 layers of muslin for protection. Run a stitch around the edges to keep it all together. Next step is soaking the muslin package in a basin filled with warm water to dissolve 1 cup of ivory flakes. Push the muslin into the water for the solution to flow through the lace curtains. Soak for at least 1 day.
Lay the muslin packet over an inverted colander. Rinse your curtains until the water finally runs clear. When you’re done, remove the stitching to remove the lace. Look at the fibers to make sure they are not damaged. If they aren’t, continue laying out curtains on a towel and let them dry. But if you find stains, soak them in a solution made from bleach and water for a few hours. Submerge your lace curtains in warm water with 1 cup of salt already dissolved, remove them and dry without rinsing
